The final evaluation meeting of the 2022 National Top 10 Cultural Heritage Tourism Cases Promotion Event was held during the 2023 China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition in Guilin City, Guangxi Province from October 12 to 13. Shanjiang Miao Museum in Fenghuang County, Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture was awarded the 2022 National Excellent Cultural Heritage Tourism Case, and is the only unit in Hunan Province to win the title.
Shanjiang Miao Museum opened to the public in October 2002. For many years, Shanjiang Miao Museum has continued efforts to enhance the attractiveness of tourism development and maintain the sustainability of tourism development on the basis of advanced, mysterious, and colorful ethnic cultures.
It has driven the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage and the development of rural tourism, and developed a Miao cultural and ecological tourism chain through the integration of museums and tourism.
A total of 184 units participated in the application, covering museums, memorial halls, archaeological sites parks, cultural relics protection units, culture and tourism departments and enterprises, etc. in 29 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities.
